Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL) is the region’s largest nonprofit (501c3) food bank and hunger relief network. FNEFL provides nutritious foods and other essential goods to those in need and strives to improve the quality of life for people living in and around Northeast and North Central Florida by addressing food insecurity, poverty and poor health. Alongside our network of food distribution, agency and community partners, the Food Bank provides food resources and hope to help all people living in our 12-county service area (Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Levy, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns and Union) who struggle to feed themselves and their families. Position Summary

In partnership with the Vice President of Philanthropy, the Donor Engagement Specialist is responsible for supporting strategic matches between donors’ philanthropic passions and Feeding Northeast Florida's most pressing needs. The Donor Engagement Specialist is responsible for supporting the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of strategic gifts.

Essential Job Functions

  • In partnership with the VP of Philanthropy and food bank leadership and staff, assist in designing and implementing projects and events to cultivate and steward donor base.
  • Assist in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting individuals, corporations and foundations believed to have philanthropic interests that match strategic food bank initiatives and needs, in coordination with the appropriate relationship managers.
  • Motivate and facilitate donors to maximize fundraising through gratitude service projects.
  • Work with other team members as appropriate to design and implement recognition, stewardship activities and special events for donors and prospects affiliated with the food bank.
  • Assist with other fundraising projects, activities, and events as necessary and assigned to reach the food bank’s revenue goals.
  • Work with volunteers to amplify their connection and corporate connections to the food bank.
  • Research and recommend new projects to enhance donor support.
  • Manage Viewspark and iWave platforms.
  • Help manage donor profiles.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in fund development for a nonprofit organization
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing and analyzing donor data to improve fundraising outcomes
  • Full computer proficiency with standard Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Passion for Feeding Northeast Florida’s mission

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding working environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team environment with ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and flexible manner.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, assignments, and priorities within deadlines.
  • High energy level, self-starter, and willing to take initiative.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to build rapport via phone and email.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, communicating effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

This position operates in a typical office environment and requires constant use of a computer and other office equipment, such as phones, calculators, computer printers and copy machines.

The person in this position frequently communicates with donors and other stakeholders in person and over the phone and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

This position requires occasional local travel for donor and vendor meetings. Infrequent national and/or overnight travel may be required for donor meetings or for optional professional development opportunities. Occasional night, weekend or on-call work may be required.

VII. Position Type & Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position requires occasional evening, weekend and on-call responsibilities.

VIII. Salary Range & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $40,000-$45,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Benefits include paid time off, health/dental/life insurance, 401(k) retirement savings plan, etc.
