About the Opportunity

DMI is looking for a Storage Engineer to support a federal program

    Execute system management, Configuration Management, preventative and corrective maintenance, and performance monitoring activities
  • Provide comprehensive Unix, Linux, or Windows systems administration and operations
  • Hands on experience on PURE storage x70, x70R2, x50, x90,x70R3, x90R2 generation storage controllers.
  • Hands on experience on configurations of Dell/EMC Data Domains DD990, DD9800 and DD9400 as a backup repository.
  • Execute tests of new Hardware and Software and complete software upgrades.
  • Act as a Point of contact between various vendors to schedule hardware replacements and be part of storage configuration projects.
  • Hands on experience on Veritas Netbackup 10.1 and 11. Perform restore tasks. Configuring backups of windows and Linux servers. Troubleshoot possible backup failures/issues on Netbackup.
  • Perform the requirements for off-hour systems maintenance work and work with respective server teams to address backup failures.
  • Monitor and Support security controls and capabilities in operating systems, layered products, and specialty software to achieve security goals and address any POAM's for remediation with respective vendors.
  • Hands on experience on Dell/EMC Avamar backups, troubleshoot backup failures, perform file restores and full VM restores.
  • Assist business users and systems engineers with the setup, installation, and testing of their Applications
  • Hands on experience with Brocade Director Class SAN switches 8510.
  • Real time experience on configuring NAS, NFS and CIFS protocols. Hands on experience on File systems and Network attached storage.
  • Interface with users and systems engineers to resolve technical and user problems
  • Follow Enterprise Change Management Procedures and ability to present change to change submission board.
  • Recommend, implement, and deliver technology solutions based on analysis and business requirements aligned with IT Strategy
  • Produce reports and provide updates to the executive level of management on both positive performance and areas requiring improvement

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education or experience
  • Three or more years of experience in managing and Supporting Unix and Windows Servers
  • Three or more years of experience in configuring and managing Storage Subsystems
  • Understanding of standard System Administration tools and practices
  • Knowledge of financial services industry standards
  • Certification on Azure preferred.
  • Be part of on-call schedule on rotation.
  • Strong Windows administration skills
  • Experience in a financial services environment preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
