JOB SUMMARY

The Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the hotel's kitchen and dining areas. Primary responsibilities include dishwashing, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring a hygienic environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, such as ovens, stoves, grills, and refrigerators, in accordance with established hygiene standards.
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
  • Removes trash and recyclables from kitchen areas and properly disposes of them.
  • Organizes and stocks kitchen inventory, including utensils, plates, and cleaning supplies.
  • Assists kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in dining areas, including clearing tables and resetting them for the next guests.
  • Collaborates with other hotel team members to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Adheres to health and safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
  • Reports any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate department.
  • Completes all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Extreme Heat, Outdoor: Exposure to weather related extreme temperatures, wind, and/or humidity with no effective protection from the heat.
  • Confined Spaces: Frequently working in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, and/or other areas that could cause claustrophobia (i.e., narrow aisles or passageways).
