Job Description

Herrick Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Concrete Carpenter to join our company in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plant facilities in central Kentucky and the surrounding region.

Applicant should have experience working on similar projects performing safe and productive structural concrete forming and placement.

Requirements

  • Experience in most aspects of Structural Concrete forming, placement, and finishing with some understanding of production concrete and gang forming systems.
  • Work with Concrete Foreman, Site Superintendent and Subcontractors to ensure Quality Product
  • Versed in ACI requirements
  • Ability to perform some layout for foundations, walls, anchor bolt placement, embeds for weld plates, etc.
  • Form experience with Aluma-gang wall forms, Symons and Wood hand-set systems (cam-lock).
  • Ability to form and finish structural concrete.
  • Cut and saw boards or plywood using hand saws and power saws.
  • Assemble and fasten materials together to construct framework of structure using bolts, screws, and nails.
  • Anchor and brace forms and other structures.
  • Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, hoists, chutes, supports, using hand tools, plumb rule, and level.
  • Place, vibrate, and finish concrete.
  • Install doors and window frames
  • Drill and place anchors in concrete and wood using power drills.
  • The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking on narrow scaffolding at elevated heights.
  • The ability to work in teams and communicate with others.
  • The ability to always work safely and promote safety for yourself and other team members.
  • Safety Minded (OSHA 10 hr. certification preferred and provided)
  • Must be available to consistently work the employers normal work hours and occasionally be available for overtime work, if requested and scheduled.
  • Additional construction craft skills a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
