Vicksburg Forest Products is searching for a warehouse clerk. We are looking for people who can contribute, grow, think and create. This position is responsible for a combination of duties in a storeroom and provides purchasing, receiving and shipping support. In addition, this role is responsible for inventory cycle counts, receiving and accepting deliveries, stocking and issuing parts, equipment and supplies, processing receipts, processing outgoing shipments, working with vendor managed inventories and suppliers, managing storeroom housekeeping projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring storeroom inventory remains stocked and routine materials are available as needed.
  • Performing all day-to-day inventory transactions such as issues, returns, credits and reconciliations.
  • Assisting with shipping/receiving tasks; including physical and/or electronic shipping and receiving of materials, operating materials handling equipment (including forklift).
  • Assisting with inventory cycle counts per direction of the Buyer/Material Manager and associated reconciliations per
  • Following best practices and financial reporting guidelines.
  • Educating storeroom customers/contractors on storeroom processes.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment in storeroom related areas.
  • Demonstrating strong performance in safety, attendance, involvement, attitude, productivity, learning/development
  • Maintaining with suppliers and maintaining good customer service such as finding parts and problem resolutions etc.
  • Ability to process data with a high degree of accuracy and detail
  • Ability to work independently and to be self-motivated.
  • Interfaces and works effectively with Timber Products' Accounting, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Safety departments. Builds strong working relationships with employees at all levels.
    Organizes, updates, and retains records, price lists, and various supporting documents.
    • Generates and manages reports using Excel spreadsheets, graphs and other functions

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excel and SAP (or other parts management system) experience preferred.
  • Previous Storeroom and/or Warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification and operate a forklift required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, customer service, strong organization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of parts and equipment (preferred).
  • Required Skills Computer proficiency including Office, Excel, Word, and Web-based programs required (Proficiency with SAP preferred, but not required).
  • • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a dynamic manufacturing environment; including both written and verbal communication
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite including Outlook and Excel and the ability to learn company specific software
  • Wood products manufacturing and mechanical knowledge a plus.

Environmental Conditions:

· Must be able to tolerate extreme hot, humid, cold, and outdoor conditions. Comfortable working in loud environment, around moving machinery, with vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
