Job Title: Sr. Director of Radiology

This role will be over all 4 of the Pipeline Health facilities. (Memorial Hospital of Gardena, Coast Plaza Hospital, Community Hospital of Huntington Park and East Los Angeles Doctor's Hospital)

Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Radiology is responsible for the direction and leadership of the Radiology department. This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for Pipeline Health. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, budgeting, financial management, and human resource management. The Senior Director coordinates the activities of all Radiology departments across the system. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Essential Functions:

  • Formulates objectives, goals, and strategies within the Radiology department.
  • Articulates and enforces standards for quality/safe patient care.
  • Develops and implements innovative systems and processes that improve staff and patient quality and safety.
  • Initiates, monitors, and enforces regulatory requirements.
  • Holds self and others accountable to policies, standards, and commitments and provides timely follow through on questions and concerns.
  • Ensures development of Radiology initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and family centered care.
  • Effectively facilitates meetings within Radiology and organizational level.
  • Interviews to select top talent, matching Radiology needs with appropriate skill sets.
  • Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies that support a culture of leadership.
  • Assesses managers and staff development needs, identifies goals and provides resources.
  • Uses clear, concise, professional communication with coworkers, patients, all customers internal and external.
  • Uses AIDET in interactions with patients and family members.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency when performing tasks.
  • Basic unit/department maintenance such as keeping files, drawers, cabinets free from unnecessary clutter. Reports on any equipment and or environmental issues for repair.
  • Abides by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.
  • Speaks up to stop the line and escalates potential safety events if necessary.
  • Completes and attends monthly training assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Seven(7) years relevant experience in the management of radiology and/or programs.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
  • A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area such as Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Radiology Technologist license issued by the state of California.
  • Certified American Registry of Radiology Technologists, ARRT, required.
  • Current Basic Life Support, BLS, from the American Heart Association, AHA, required.
  • Fluoroscopy (Fluoro) Certification/Licensure/Permit for state of employment, preferred.
