Vice President of Professional Services

We are looking for an experienced and operationally minded leader to drive the successful delivery of our ERP products and services.  Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the VP of Professional Services will direct and oversee the entire Professional Services organization and will lead our main functions of Project Management, Conversions, and Implementation.  This is a rapidly growing team that needs the right leader in place to help build for scale by putting in place the necessary foundational elements of people, process, and tools to drive efficiency within our projects.  In this role, you’ll be a critical member of the leadership.  You will be expected to put in place all of the fundamental components of a high performing SaaS Professional Services organization; including implementation methodology, portfolio tracking, team resource optimization, PMO, Conversion Tools, and Best Practice Configurations. 

The VP of Professional Services will be expected to understand how to set & drive KPIs, vastly increase project efficiency, ensure product adoption, and elicit customer satisfaction with the delivery of our products.  In particular, driving project throughput while maintaining quality is a key expectation.  This is a critical role as the company is experiencing high growth and building for scale.  You will oversee programs and projects to ensure that services are efficiently meeting our contractual obligations and customer needs.  You will be responsible for supervising managers, meeting with clients and vendors, and ensuring that all service functions run efficiently and evolve to a matured state.  The expectation as VP of Professional Services is that you’ll be able to set a vision, streamline operations, provide visibility into the project backlog, and boost revenue through productivity gains realized across the Professional Services functions.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Understands how to deliver complex ERP software and has had exposure to both SaaS and on-premise delivery of Professional Services
  • Experienced leader that understands how to fundamentally run a PS organization
  • Has managed P&L and is able to identify levers that drive PS margin
  • Sets clear KPIs and holds team members accountable for delivering results
  • Is proficient in all PS functions; including Project Management, Data Conversion, and Implementation
  • Seeks opportunities to augment our internal project capacity through development of professional services partnerships.
  • Drives standards through methodologies, playbooks, solution blueprints, and best practices to gain efficiency
  • Proactively monitors projects, forecasts closures, and ensures the team has what is needed to deliver results
  • Is keenly aware of how to operationalize and can naturally pull levers to produce the necessary results needed by the company
  • Manages hiring against budget, establishes proper onboarding protocols, provides guidance on performance management, maps clear career growth opportunities, and retains top talent
  • Effectively manages the backlog based on projected closures to ensure the backlog is being burned down at an appropriate rate and monitors new bookings to ensure proper resource allocation
  • Plans appropriately to ensure MoM, QoQ, and YoY the Professional Service organization meets and/or exceeds their targets

  • Operationally minded to ensure the right methodologies, systems, tools and processes have been implemented to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Discipline with properly monitoring all projects on a WoW, MoM, QoQ, YoY basis to ensure operations are run in a smooth and predictable manner.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum of five years leading and/or managing within a Professional Services organization, ideally with an ERP company or a System Integrator of complex SaaS.
  • Excellent organizational, operational, and strategic planning experience working with Managers, Directors, VP, and C-level Executives.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams both in-person and remotely to obtain and share all necessary data, information, and recommendations real-time.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
