Job Description

Weatherford is hiring a Quality Control Inspector for our Diplomatic Plaza(Houston) facility. The Quality Control Inspector will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment. This is the senior job level. Under supervision, monitor the development of all products manufactured by the company. Ensure the product of a company meet quality standards. Identify the problems and issues regarding quality of the products and also has to make recommendation to the higher authorities.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order) 

  • The Job function requires working for various product lines and manufacturing branch plant as assigned as a Quality checker for Purchases Orders and Material Test Reports
  • Requires good knowledge on material specification and standards in the Industry and Weatherford material specification. 
  • Data management of the PO, MTR and COC to be uploaded in Accorde system. 
  • Post to further training he/she may need to clean-up or load parts in Windchill.
  • Perform specific engineering tasks within predefined design specifications. 
  • Working for various product lines and manufacturing branch plant as assigned as a Quality checker for Purchases Orders and Material Test Reports 
  • Good Knowledge about purchase process followed in Manufacturing plant in an MNC. 
  • Ability to understand and read engineering drawings of components and assemblies. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to Plan ahead and organize daily and weekly tasks. 
  • Preparation of documentation for Quality and Purchase orders. 
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level. 
  • Know and understand Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Program and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions. 
  • Apply Weatherford, and where appropriate Client Company Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Management Systems. 
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications

Required:

 

  • 3+ Years experience in an inspection role in a similar manufacturing facility.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 in a productive environment.
  • Should be familiar with API requirements.
  • Should have the knowledge of VAM, Tenaris thread inspection.
  • Oilfield machine shop experience will be an added advantage.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic math, read blueprints / engineering drawings, and operate measuring equipment
  • Effective communication skills

 

Preferred:

 

  • Working knowledge of API-Q1 or other product specifications
  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Knowledge of VAM, Tenaris thread inspection.
  • Experience in a repair and maintenance facility
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standard and electronic inspections
