What You Will Do:

It is the concierge's role to set the tone for First Impressions for our residents, staff, and visitors. This position serves as a liaison between members of our leadership team, residents, visitors, and vendors. This position requires a high level of customer service and organizational skills. This position handles the day-to-day operations of the front desk and telephones, providing world-class service to all guests and employees through clerical duties. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and assist residents and visitors in a polished, professional, discrete manner. Manage the front desk sign-in and out process for visitors and vendors. Handle and direct incoming phone calls. Inform residents or staff of the arrival of guests, packages, and flowers.
  • Accommodate resident requests for assistance - referring to other staff as necessary.
  • Maintain and regularly update the database of resident general information and update/distribute the resident phone list. Handle other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate positive resident relations and the community’s quality care and service standards to residents, families, and guests. Maintain a positive, cheerful attitude at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The position falls under the direct supervision of the Controller but is expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment. The position is not required to supervise or direct other associates.

Why You Are Qualified:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • At least one (1) year of work experience
  • Computer skills in MS Office (especially Excel), and databases.
  • On a daily basis, throughout the workday: Must be capable of sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching and kneeling, reaching over the head, grasping with both hands, and fine manipulation.

Knowledge Skill and Abilities:

  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work with employees in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to read and write, follow written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively in English, so that others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to perform duties professionally and demonstrate integrity and discretion in the care and handling of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Computer skills in MS Office (especially Excel), and databases.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, interpret, and manage programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and resources necessary to provide quality service.

Physical/ Sensory:

  • The person in this position must be able to move about inside the office, buildings on campus, and outside including sitting and standing. Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, and scanner.
  • The ability to recognize, perceive and observe details with or without corrective lenses or contacts.
  • This position requires exposure to some risk to physical and or mental health safety. Works in a well-lighted, well-ventilated building. Must be able to tolerate occasional exposure to dust, fumes, odors, water, etc., as well as some noise. Subject to frequent interruptions. Subject to hostile or emotionally upset individuals. Must be willing to work, when necessary, beyond normal working hours and on weekends, as well as in other positions as necessary.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs on occasion; Including packages, paper boxes, and other items as necessary.
