Summary/Objective
We are seeking a Recycling Manager to oversee our recycling process for regrind, rework, waste, and scrap materials. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up efficient workflow processes, managing customer buyback programs, and ensuring the profitability of our recycling center. Additionally, they will develop and execute a business plan to optimize resources and minimize waste.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement a business plan to maximize resource utilization and minimize waste.
  • Establish efficient workflow processes for material recycling.
  • Manage customer buyback programs effectively.
  • Supervise production continuity and ensure optimal deployment of subordinate employees.
  • Ensure accurate recording of production protocols and reports.
  • Notify management of any irregularities in the production process.
  • Supervise daily operations of the recycling center, including sorting, processing, and maintaining material quality.
  • Manage inventory of materials and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Evaluate, organize, and motivate subordinate activities to drive continuous improvement in production and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and internal regulations and safeguard company property.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and supervision to address machinery defects.
  • Coordinate with logistics, planning, and production teams on various operational aspects.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • Experience in plastics processing, regrind, rework, waste, and scrap management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel.
  • Experience with Sage X3, SAP, Kaizen, Lean, 5S preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Supervisory Responsibility

Work Environment
The position primarily operates in a manufacturing environment, with time split between the production floor and office settings.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with an expected workload of 40 hours per week. Occasional coverage for other shifts and weekends may be required to meet production demands.

Travel
Occasional travel may be necessary.
