Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Sell company products and services to customers by processing orders, price and delivery inquiries, providing technical and application information, soliciting customer orders, and suggesting additional products in a fast multi-tasking environment.
  • Maintains responsibility for orders from quote to invoice.
  • Select and specify a variety of products utilizing a variety of vendors.
  • Process customers orders and send requested order acknowledgments.
  • Review customer purchase orders for special conditions/documentation.
  • Check availability and verify the ship date.
  • Increase order size by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customers buying histories.
  • Process and expedite orders, customer returns, and returns to vendors in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Works closely with an outside salesperson in soliciting business, executing order transactions, and maintaining superior customer service levels.
  • Works closely with buyers to locate products and ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicates effectively and participates positively as a member of the inside sales team.
  • Review open customer order reports and take action on open items in a timely manner; specifically, those
  • items that may be at risk in meeting the customers promised delivery date.
  • Willingness to be flexible, including working overtime, and performing responsibilities not specifically


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3+ years experience in the Customer Service related Industry and Inside Sales preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with warehouse and delivery methods, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to use MS Office, proficiency in MS Excel, and basic understanding and navigation of Prophet 21 setup and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with pricing schemes and suppliers
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner and listen attentively to others, and understands the material.
  • Strong verbal, written, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with customers, co-workers, supervisors, management, and various personnel.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers/peers/supervisors.
  • Attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in customer orders.
