Travel Required: None

Caseload/Workload: To be discussed in interview; Previous SLPA's caseload clean-up required

Pay: Starting at $30 per hour

State License: Required

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for a contract position in a school setting in California. The SLPA will be responsible for direct services, including typical SLPA duties, and will also involve cleaning up the caseload mess left by the previous SLPA. This position offers guaranteed hours, competitive pay, and an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and other school staff to develop and implement therapy plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and sessions.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and resources for therapy sessions.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and objectives.

Additional Job Details:

  • IEP System: The district utilizes SEIS for IEP management.
  • Training: Training on the SEIS system will be provided.
  • Dedicated Therapy Space: The school provides dedicated space for therapy sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
  • Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license in the state of California.
  • Previous experience as an SLPA in a school setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SEIS or similar IEP management systems is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
