Estimating/Purchasing Analyst

J & J Custom Homes is a sister company to Alpha Omega Construction Group.

Job Summary:

The Estimating/Purchasing Analyst serves as an initial point of contact for builder plan submissions and oversees the procurement of materials and services for J&J Custom Homes. This position partners with operations to ensure trade partner adherence to scope of work, budget and scheduling guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete detailed and itemized material quantity estimates from builder plans.
• Work with company personnel to ensure profitable job outcome.
• Develop strong product knowledge to recommend best products and services available.
• Work with Director of Operations to bid, negotiate and approve trade partner contracts.
• Partner with trade partners and suppliers to take advantage of cost saving opportunities.
• Responsible for developing the budget for each build.
• Manage Field Supervisor to ensure trade partner supervision and adherence to quality and safety guidelines.
• Oversee rebate process.
• Provide frequent reporting to ownership while recommending strategic methods to reduce costs.
• Conduct field supervision of trades for current rental home community project.
• Perform industry benchmarking studies to ensure competitiveness.
• Monitor supply purchasing of internal field management team.
• Regularly travel to job sites to monitor trade performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Thorough understanding of current construction practices.
• Construction management experience.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or Supply Chain Management.
• Purchasing experience in the construction industry a plus.
• Blueprint reading and estimating experience preferred.
• Hands-on field management experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
• Must be able to traverse a construction site.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs., pushing and pulling abilities.
