$32 an hour, CA RVT License Required

The Companion Animal Hospital is a state of the art general practice focusing on the care of privately owned animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient procedures and during surgery
• Radiograph patients and ensure that radiographs are of a diagnostic quality
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Monitor sick and/or hospitalized patients and communicate findings with case veterinarian
• Assist with scheduling appointments and admitting and discharging patients
• Maintain accurate medical records on hospitalized patients
• Supervise and mentor assistant medical technicians during work shifts
• Ensure that all hospital areas are properly cleaned, maintained, well stocked
• Ensure that all hospital and Center safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Maintain a current RVT license with up to date CE

The ideal candidate would have:

• A Current CA RVT License
• Required knowledge with regards to radiography, laboratory and medicine as it pertains to the field of small animal and exotic veterinary medicine
• Ability to properly operate X-ray machine, develop radiographs and determine quality
• Knowledge of small animal and exotic pet species husbandry and restraint
• Ability to work in a continuously changing, multiple doctor hospital environment
• Ability to follow written and verbal doctor orders without direct supervision
