About this role:  

Due to the company’s consistent growth, WORKS is currently recruiting for a General Painter to join our team.  

General Painter provides high-quality painting services in a variety of construction settings. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  setting up interior and exterior job sites, preparing surfaces for paint or stain, applying base and finish coats of paint/stain, and cleaning the worksite. The position also performs basic carpentry repair work as needed and works directly with clients. 

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: 

• Preparing work surfaces for painting to include:  

• scrape, sandpaper, prime, and/or seal surfaces prior to painting; 
• fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.  

• power wash exterior surfaces;  
• make basic carpentry repairs to surfaces as needed.  
• clean and vacuum walls to ensure proper adherence;  
• tape off areas when needed. 

• Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for the painting process 

• Managing all aspects of interior and exterior painting projects -- set up through breakdown – consistent with WORKS specifications and quality standards.  Review work quality with Lead Painter to ensure the finished product meets WORKS standards and expectations. Keeps work area and paint mixing area clean at all times. 

• Follows guidance provided by Field Supervisors and Project Managers, as necessary 

• Proactively and thoroughly communicates with all team members and subcontractors on a continuous basis. 

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to all assigned projects. 

Qualifications: 

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications.  

• A minimum of 2 years of professional painting experience in a residential setting 

• The talent to continuously maintain a high level of customer service and a strong work ethic. 
• The ability to effectively communicate in a team environment with members at all levels, including clients.    
• Physically able to stand, walk, climb interior and exterior ladders or staging to 50 feet, and lift 80-100 lbs. continuously throughout the day. 
• Understand Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements for cleaning and disposing of pain 
• OSHA 10 certification is preferred; company sponsorship is an option. 

Other Requirements:  

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; 
• Be willing to submit to a background check to include a driving record review; 
• Be able to provide two documents, upon hire, showing proof of eligibility for hire in the United States.
