Responsibilities:

The Assistant Administrator is responsible for the overall operational functioning of the Nursing Facility as designated by the President/CEO. The responsibilities may be expanded to include programs, projects, or services as directed.

  • Key focus on the optimization of the operations while overseeing clinical care and other support services where you will plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct applicable departments
  • Effectively collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement key strategic and operational initiatives
  • Drive new program development and patient experience
  • Promotes an environment that supports employee engagement, the provision of quality care and services, and patient experience
  • Laser focus on KPIs and budget management and profitability
  • Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Drive effective and cohesive cross functional teams
  • Oversight of (9) operational areas
  • Ensures DOH regulatory compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, residents, and families
  • Promote the facility’s philosophy of culture change and person-centered care model
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement
  • Strong negotiator to support vendor contract management
  • Excellent communicator, motivator and be inspirational

Qualifications:

Must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree and a New York State license as a Nursing Home Administrator and a minimum of five years of experience in nursing home administration or a comparable health care leadership position. In addition:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to organize, develop, implement, and interpret department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care and maintaining sound operations. Must be strategic and have the ability to effectively execute
  • Must have a strong business acumen and a strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory mandates governing the industry
  • Must have strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement
  • Professional and compassionate leader with experience in performance management and effective leadership with proven leadership and management skills
