Department: Clubhouse After School Program

Locations: 21 Delaware Ave, Albany, NY 12210

Salary: From $17/Hour

Status: Full-time / 30-35 Hours a week


Overview of Your Role

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area is seeking a friendly and professional Front Desk Receptionist to be the first point of contact for visitors at our Main Club location. You will greet all visitors, answer phones, sort mail, provide basic information about our programs and club activities, and perform various clerical duties to support our staff.


KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  1. Greeting and assisting parents, club members, and visitors with inquiries and providing information about the program.
  2. Managing incoming and outgoing phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication promptly and professionally.
  3. Maintaining an organized front desk area, including managing registration forms, attendance records, and other essential documents.
  4. Assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  5. Collaborating with the program administration to address any concerns, questions, or issues from parents, club members, or staff.
  6. Coordinating with various departments, such as counselors, activity coordinators, and administrative staff, to ensure smooth operations.
  7. Providing general administrative support, such as photocopying, filing, and data entry, as required.
  8. Monitoring camp security by ensuring visitors sign in and out, enforcing program policies, and reporting suspicious activities or incidents.
  9. Maintaining a friendly and positive attitude while interacting with parents, campers, and staff, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
  10. Other Duties as Required.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • Experience working with youth/childcare
  • Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite and basic data entry.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling paperwork and administrative tasks.

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Ability to pass Medical/TB Clearance
  • Ability to pass OCFS Background Check Clearance
  • Possession of a valid photo ID


Physical Requirements:

This job may require extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds may also be necessary.
