Essential Responsibilities:

The Automotive Mechanic will generally assist in the repair and diagnosis of major components or remove/replace major components at the direction of the Lead Technician. Expectations include the ability to diagnose and repair the following with little or no supervision. This is a Full Time Position.

  • Diagnose and perform repairs on Cadillac Sedans and Suburbans efficiently and on budget.
  • Responsible for upkeep of our preventive maintenance program and performing inspections and repairs.
  • After services are performed, conduct safety checks on equipment to ensure the safety of our drivers and customers before vehicles are put back on the road.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times in compliance with OSHA Standards and in accordance with all company policies and safety protocols.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns as needed.
  • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
  • Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials, up to replacing complete assemblies, fuel system components, etc.
  • Assists Fleet Manager as needed in the completion of work orders and maintaining project timelines.
  • Maintain healthy and strong lines of communication with senior leadership, operations management, and vendor relationships.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • 2 or more years of experience as a diesel mechanic with responsibilities in preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Valid Driver’s License (CDL Class B w/ Air Brakes Preferred)
  • Basic computer and data entry skills (Preferred)
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work productively in isolation or in a team environment.
  • Experience working on MCI, Vanhool, Prevost, and International Buses - a plus (not required)
