Job Description

Acme Dock Specialists is one of the largest distributors of loading dock equipment, doors and in-plant products in the Midwest. We have served the greater Kansas City area for over 60 years and have grown to add branches in Springfield, Wichita, and Omaha. We need to add a technician to our Joplin service area, which is supported by our Springfield office, and are looking for people with a troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset to join our team. Whether you have years of dock and door experience and are ready to jump into one of our trucks on day one, or you are fresh out of high-school and looking to put your abilities to the test, we have a place for you. We hire experienced technicians and we train people with a mechanical aptitude to become great technicians.

We have the privilege of helping some of the largest Fortune 500 companies and some of the smallest family-owned operations keep their shipping, warehousing, and production operations going. When our Service Technicians show up to a site and walk to the equipment that needs repair, they might walk by a brand new truck being assembled or glass being manufactured or robots retrieving packages. We serve such a wide array of customers that you'll always see something new.

If you're looking for a career that's nearly recession-proof and offers raises based on your demonstrated ability to perform key parts of your job (no waiting years and years to enter the next pay band), consider applying to be a Service Technician with Acme Dock.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair, install, and adjust loading dock levelers and overhead doors
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment comprised of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in maintenance
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Valid Driver's License

Benefits:

  • Health Care/Vision/Dental
  • 401k with company match
  • FSA or HSA accounts
  • Company work truck and fuel card
  • Performance based bonuses up to 6% of annual salary
