Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Welder I for our cable line. This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar’s Welder I position is an important part of Trystar’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider.

The Welder I is a skilled professional responsible for performing Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding on aluminum components. They play a critical role in the fabrication process, using their expertise to produce high-quality welds that meet engineering specifications and industry standards.We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:

In this role you will get to:
  • TIG Welding: Perform TIG welding on aluminum materials, utilizing precise heat control and filler metal to create strong and aesthetically appealing welds.
  • Weld Preparation: Clean and prepare aluminum surfaces for welding, removing any contaminants or impurities that could affect the quality of the weld.
  • Material Inspection: Examine and verify the integrity of aluminum materials to ensure they meet the required quality standards before welding.
  • Welding Parameters: Set up and adjust welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate TIG welding torch, gas flow, and amperage, based on the thickness and type of aluminum being welded.
  • Weld Quality Control: Inspect finished welds for defects and discontinuities, using visual inspection and non-destructive testing methods as required to ensure the product being manufactured is meeting required specifications.
  • Welding Joints: Work with a variety of welding joint configurations, such as butt joints, lap joints, and fillet welds, depending on the project's specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while performing TIG welding, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety regulations.
  • Work Environment: Operate in various work environments, including workshops, fabrication facilities, or construction sites, depending on project requirements.
  • Material Handling: Safely handle and move aluminum materials and welded components during the welding process.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor the manufacturing process to maintain a steady workflow and promptly address any deviations or inefficiencies. This also includes daily production reports, tally sheets, scrap reports, etc. Must be able to understand the job orders and interact with Epicor.
  • Documentation: Accurately record production data in Epicor, machine settings, and maintenance activities to maintain production records and assist in process improvement efforts.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including supervisors, fabricators, and quality control personnel, to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate hand tools necessary to set-up, take apart, troubleshoot, and to operate equipment. Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components to ensure proper functioning and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have experience in primarily TIG welding and MIG welding.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding techniques, particularly on aluminum materials, to produce high-quality welds with minimal defects.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with different grades and types of aluminum and their corresponding welding requirements.
  • Two years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
  • Weld small and large components such as steel tubing, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required, and technical secondary education is preferred.
  • Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc. and to keep accurate account of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis
  • Frequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching required
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
  • Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection
