Job Description
Perform vehicle emission testing on a chassis dyno to comply with SAE/EPA/CARB specification/regulations, and industry best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform chassis dyno emission tests (driving)
Prepares, installs and sets up test vehicle, analyzers, dyno, data acquisition and other equipment
Perform SHED testing (HSL, DBL and ORVR)
Perform testing and records results, communicates results to an Engineer, or to a Supervisor / Manager, as required
Prepare vehicles for testing (fuel drain and fill, canister loading/conditioning, instrumentation, etc.)
Support/perform daily equipment calibration and maintenance
Complete test documentation paperwork
Proposes improvements to processes and equipment upgrades
Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures
Perform light mechanical work
Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of chassis test cells and work area
Perform additional projects as assigned
Basic Requirements
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field with 5+ years of emissions lab experience (Preferred)
Or 6+ years of testing lab experience with 2+ years of emissions lab experience
Experience with operation of the following equipment:
Emission chassis dynamometers
Working knowledge of and experience performing SAE/EPA/CARB vehicle emission test procedures for ICE and EV
Strong diagnostic skills - ability to learn and understand new concepts and applications
Strong attention to detail- follows policies, procedures, and safety measures
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
MS Office (Word, Excel) - intermediate user proficiency
Test cell data acquisition and control program, i.e. STARS, iTEST or PUMA
Horiba MEXA-ONE or 7000 series emission analytical system experience
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision (Required)
NOTES:
Shop/Laboratory Environment - exposure to fuel, compressed air/gas, emissions, and exhaust fumes; pinching, tripping, electrical, and chemical hazards. May be exposed to hazardous conditions. Bending and stooping required. Must have clear understanding of safety; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work safely with hand power tools. Safety glasses required.
