Harbor House is seeking a highly skilled professional to provide advocacy, child/teen support groups, services intakes, and walk-in crisis intervention and referrals. This advocate will work directly with Harbor House Case Managers and survivors and provide referrals to other Harbor House and community-based advocacy programs as appropriate.


Education and Training: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, Associate's Degree or higher preferred. Current Child Development Associate credential (CDA) preferred. Professional experience on a year by year basis, may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.


Other Job Requirements: Knowledge of child growth and development and basic counseling skills. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with children as well as facilitate support groups for children of all ages. Ability to plan, organize and conduct learning activities. Basic computer skills. Ability to provide effective and immediate crisis intervention for survivors. Valid Florida Driver's License and cover-able by agency insurance. Completion of CORE Competency training within 30 days of hire is required.


Experience: Minimum of one year experience in child care.
