SUMMARY

Performs numerous shipping, receiving and warehouse tasks necessary under close supervision. Basic functions include accurate receipt, stocking, pulling and shipment of materials and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify materials and stock in appropriate location.
  • Pull component parts to fill orders as needed.
  • Create, assign, and verify transactions, insures they are timely and accurate
  • Verifying receipt of raw materials, purchased stock, finished items, equipment, supplies, and returned goods. Match packing slip to purchase order
  • Work from blueprints, job specifications, bills of materials, requisitions, and miscellaneous transportation documents to verify the products being shipped match the shipping orders.
  • Box or crate product for shipment to customer. May have to build crates when ready-made crates are not available.
  • Weigh and measure the dimensions of all outgoing shipments. Prepare stencils, and apply to shipments, apply shipping label, and complete shipping instructions.
  • Prepare, expedite, and dispatch of shipments under general supervision.
  • Work with truck drivers to include standard items for product shipment, load, block, brace, nail, skid, and strap containers as necessary.
  • Performs related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, working in two or more areas in a day, and conform to all safety rules, regulations, and Quality Manual Standards.

  • Duties requires some experience and limited knowledge of company parts, supplies and equipment and the material system.
  • Minimum analytical skills are needed to verify received goods, counting quantities, and checking packing lists.
  • Ability to use a computer to process several transactions.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or general educational diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Must have knowledge, skills, and ability to learn basic Shipping/Receiving/ Warehousing duties and be able to expand into areas of more responsibility.
  • Three (3) years of experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of being certified as a forklift driver.

The employee will constantly move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently move up to twenty (20) pounds, and occasionally move up to eighty (80) pounds. At all times the employee should maximize the usage of mechanical aids at their disposal. The employee will perform the following activities, constantly be reaching, handling, and feeling. Frequently, stooping, crouching, and fingering and occasionally be climbing, balancing, and kneeling.

The work environment is mostly in a production setting.
