SUMMARY

Warner Electric is looking for our next Team Leader to lead our Material Handler group for our 2nd (2:30pm-11pm) operations. Our Team Leaders have a direct impact on our safety, culture, workplace organization, internal and external quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and inventory.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented; operate industrial trucks (sit and stand), hoists, tuggers and pallet jacks; develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and must have the ability and willingness to train others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead all activities relating to production performance. Coordinate activities of material associates and guide our people in their development
  • Continually improve safety record with a proactive approach to physical safety issues and employee safety behavior. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas
  • Collaborate, develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing processes. Lead communication between members of the team, shifts and production cells
  • Operate industrial trucks (sit and stand), hoists, tuggers and pallet jacks to assist in loading or moving materials and products
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, cleans work area, prepares all skids for shipment, stocks production cells and keeps supplies on the production floor orderly

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous leadership and manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPS, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods
  • Post-secondary education preferred

Occasionally push/pull up to 80 pounds
