POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Affairs Coordinator I serves to facilitate interactions between Thorne.com customers, Customer Service, and Medical Affairs. They function to assist with creating an organized and streamlined system for providing clinical information and support from the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.

  • Responsible for streamlining and organizing questions and requests directed to the Medical Affairs department without direct oversight. This includes requests for information from, but not limited to, direct email, group email, and website chat functions.
  • Provides clear and professional responses based on organized and approved communications created by Medical Affairs, without direct oversight.
  • Assists the Medical Affairs Administrator to maintain accurate and up to date clinical response repositories, such as those used for web chat functionality and resources utilized by Customer Service.
  • Actively and independently seeks information through established repositories, ETQ, and direct interaction with the department to provide a response to requests for information or guidance.
  • Assists the Medical Affairs Coordinator II with ensuring that support requests from Customer Service and Thorne.com customers are answered in an expedient and complete manner.
  • Works directly with the Medical Affairs Coordinator II and others, to ensure all requests from professional customers and internal departments are tracked and receive an appropriate response.
  • Independently assists with providing support, clinical assets, and other resources to the members of the Professional Sales team.
  • Builds and maintains knowledge of Thorne product names and usage to ensure efficient and accurate support through Customer Service and directly to Thorne customers.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Customer Service Procedures Manuals and maintains knowledge base on an ongoing basis as procedural changes occur, to align proper support as provided by the Customer Service team.
  • Maintains knowledge of the applicable provisions of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and follows them. Remains knowledgeable on an ongoing and timely basis as changes in cGMPs occur.

What You Need:

  • Experience and/or Education: By training, education and/or experience, employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. Bachelor’s degree is required with a focus in biological sciences preferred.
  • Language Ability: Employee is able to read and understand written directions in English, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), technical procedures or governmental regulations, and the Thorne Research Employee Handbook. The employee follows instructions, both verbal and written, and communicates effectively with supervisors and fellow employees. Employee is able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and convey understandable and concise messages.
