Summary:


  • Provide routine oversight and maintenance of integrated network systems and software to ensure the integrity, effectiveness and efficiency of the information technology control environment of the Wayne Township Trustee Office. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dependable and honest.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • 2+ years of IT support and systems administration experience with related certifications
  • A.A.S. or B.S. in Information Systems or related field preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational behavior and experience
  • Demonstrated file management knowledge, strong documentation skills, professional appearance and demeanor, customer service oriented, respect for organizational structures.
  • Knowledge of website and application design is desired.
  • Must be functionally adept at systemic troubleshooting with demonstrated and functional knowledge in Microsoft and Linux operating systems, Internet phone (VOIP) systems.
  • Remote desktop usage and tools, network security methodologies (multi-factor security methods, and endpoint antivirus and malware protection)
  • Managing domains and websites
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks is preferred (e.g. kneeling, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and lifting).  
  • Able to work flexible hours responding to emergencies when necessary.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Complete tasks/duties as assigned by the Trustee and Deputy Trustee.
  • Ensure direct supervisor has ready access or is in possession of the most current technical and operational documentation for available systems.
  • Understand and promote the guidelines, standards, and philosophy of the Wayne Township Trustee Office.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Wayne Township Trustee Office and the Indiana Township Association.
  • Maintain a safe and clean office environment.
  • Provide local expertise to external IT and related vendors. Perform detective, preventative, and corrective measures in the routine maintenance of critical network systems. Offer quality improvement ideas and methodologies for business and mission-critical systems.
  • Superior demonstration of confidential and sensitive information of all related information.
  • Perform daily maintenance and routine operation of computer systems including, but not limited to, network infrastructure, endpoint devices (e.g. printers, laptops and desktops), storage devices and virtual environments, telecom systems, and security surveillance systems.
  • Provide prompt, timely, organized, and professional attitude to the daily IT control environment. Provide timely resolution of daily issues.
  • Secure, apply periodic changes and protect all administrator-level and access passwords. Maintain routine operations including, but not limited to, daily and systematic data backups, firmware, software, and operating system updates on related integrated systems.
  • Provide active quality and process improvement suggestions to superiors whenever possible.
  • Create and maintain currency of operational and procedural documentation.
  • Assist with end-user training on related systems.
  • Remain committed to continuing education.
  • Assist with the development of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
  • Exhibit high degree of professionalism and competence in the performance of routine assigned duties.
