The Role: To support Mother Parker’s safety operations and quality control measures. This position requires frequent coordination with Management to ensure compliant implementation of project plans and specifications. This position will occasionally require monthly internal audits (with pictures), as well as daily inventory tracking for janitorial supplies and safety supplies. All information must be entered in Excel-based QA/QC report. All equipment must be inspected and calibrated at set frequency, in compliance with the internal calibration matrix.

What you get to do: Essential Responsibilities / Specific Duties:

  • Inspect packaging lines during each shift and verify the production Quality checks, packaging integrity and label by comparing with the shop order.
  • Inspect, verify and record Quality checks for every shop order ran during the course of a shift.
  • Identify, assist, address and document quality holds.
  • Maintain Hold Area and ensure hold product is accurately documented in database, ensure hold procedure is followed properly.
  • Review and monitor all deviations to aid in corrective action and decision making
  • Maintain retained samples storage area in orderly fashion. Locate and pull samples as needed and rotate out old stock.
  • Perform environmental sampling an work closely with QA supervisor and 3rd party lab
  • Ability to trend analytical data and perform root cause analysis
  • Review daily paperwork for all lines to make release decisions
  • Active involvement in quality improvement processes and ability to enforce policies and procedures in the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. testing of competitor samples, assisting production when needed)
  • Perform equipment calibrations on Daily and weekly basis, verifying the readings and record the results.
  • Daily operational inspection of GMPs and rework process on the production floor to ensure quality/safe working environment is maintained.
  • Assist QA Supervisor in performing monthly audits and other tasks as assigned.
  • Purchase material and track inventory of all safety and janitorial supplies with working knowledge of EAM
  • Oversee with assistance from QA supervisor, processes and systems for reporting, monitoring and correcting operational deficiencies pertaining to food safety and quality
  • Provide support to QA technicians and motivate team to achieve quality goals

What you bring to the role:

  • Evaluate and identify areas of improvement from a safety and employee training perspective
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in food industry or an Associate’s degree with 5+ years of experience in food industry
  • HACCP certification
  • PCQI (preventative controls qualified individual)
  • Solid knowledge of SQF
  • Critical thinking /problem solving. Thorough knowledge of CAPA process
