Welder

General duties:

• Weld steel products
• Translate design drawings
• Weld per Manufacturing Orders
• Ensure finished product meets quality standards
• Complete required paperwork
• Possible fork lift operation
• Follows company PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment

• Maintain a mindset of constant improvement

Skills:

• Steel welding experience (GMAW)
• Able to read blueprints
• Understanding of weld symbols
• Basic math skills
• Use of basic measurement equipment, i.e., tape measure, calipers
• Must pass PVM Steel’s weld test (AWS D.1.1, 2-G)
• Communicative
• Friendly
• Ability to work with others
• Dependable
• Organized
• Time management skills
• Ability to work under time restraints

Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• 2 years of steel welding warehouse experience
• Tech school certification in lieu of experience
• Prefer fork lift experience, but will train for fork lift certification

Education:

High school diploma, GED, or Tech school certification, or will accept experience in lieu of education

Certifications:

Employee must pass the company’s forklift driver certification course, if required.

Overview:

• Overtime may be required on a periodic basis for either 1st or 2nd shift. Second shift runs 4-days per week Mon-Thurs, 10 hour shifts.
• Candidates will be required to complete a background check, drug screen, and reference check.
