POSITION: Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

FUNCTION: Perform maintenance on facility and machinery to ensure all equipment is operative.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Effective communication, both verbal and written, with fellow employees regarding quality, cost, delivery, and safety.

2. Proper use of timekeeping system.

3. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, recognizing hazards and taking appropriate corrective action.

4. Utilize lockout/tagout procedures as required.

5. Understand and follow all safety and accident prevention guidelines as outlined in the employee handbook.

6. Understand and follow all policies and procedures in the employee handbook.

7. Other duties as assigned.

8. Lead by example.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform maintenance and preventive on injection molding machines, robots, auxiliary equipment and other equipment as

directed.

2. Working and troubleshooting understanding of electrical, hydraulic, PLC and other systems

3. Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions

4. Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment

5. Complete all maintenance documentation required to maintain proper records.

6. Operate an overhead crane and forklift correctly and safely.

7. Communicate effective written/oral usage of department technical terms.

8. Perform facility maintenance; including but not limited to, air conditioner filter, lights, and roof drainage.

9. Complete repairs and parts replacements

10. Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment

11. Repair, install, adjust or maintain machines

12. Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions

13. Read blueprints and various schematics.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Maintenance Engineer and Maintenance Technician

REQUIRED TOOLS: Minimum Requirements: screwdriver (flat-head/phillips), allen wrenches (metric/standard), 10” adjustable wrench, channel-lock pliers, and other tools as required.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: Work is conducted in a production environment. Must be able to lift 60 pounds and stand or sit for long periods of time. Ability to climb and work at heights up to twelve (12) feet above floor level.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Education. High school diploma or GED.

Experience. Six (6) months injection molding or maintenance experience.

Skills. Excellent reading, comprehension, communication, and basic math skills. Certified forklift operator.

Behavioral Characteristics. Must be self directed and take the initiative for constant improvement in quality and performance. Maintain a positive attitude and follow the basic principles when dealing with all other employees. Listen to understand clearly, give feedback to others, get your point across. Acquire, evaluate, use, and communicate information. Must be able to deal with change, ask questions to clarify information, be a team player, and take appropriate corrective action.


Monday through Friday, Weekends as Needed.
First Shift - 7 am to 3:30 pm
Second Shift - 3 pm to 11:30 pm
Third Shift - 11 pm to 7:30 am
