Salary:

Registered Professional Land Surveyor – RPLS

FSC offers professional surveying and civil engineering services to both private and public clients, providing design solutions on transportation, water and wastewater improvements, residential and commercial land development, and oil and gas projects throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana.

Job Description:

Coordinate multiple CAD Technicians and field crews on day-to-day operations under the supervision of the Vice President of Surveying to include management of schedule, budget, personnel, and resources as needed for the successful completion of projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform office and field work as directed.
  • Provide on the job training for survey personnel.
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about properties in areas to be surveyed.
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, clarify, and assume liability of work performed.
  • Prepare and supervise preparation of all data, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
  • Coordinate findings with clients and others concerned with projects.
  • Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures.
  • Facilitating the personal and professional growth of your team members by coaching, training and otherwise taking actions that help the development of your team.

Education/Experience:

  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) credentials in the State of Texas are required.
  • Proven experience in Land title research, metes & bounds preparation, and boundary reconstruction/boundary analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 5 years of related work experience in the land surveying field.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong technical proficiency required, including Microsoft Office products, Trimble software/hardware, AutoCAD Civil3D, and MicroStation.

Soft/Other Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions independently through sound judgment for the betterment of all team members and the firm.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to present possible solutions.
