Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team. The Project Coordinator reports to the Director of Projects and is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of all tasks that relate to a specific project, work closely under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager, where applicable, to assist in the day-to-day duties of all projects and provides support to ensure client/customer service expectations are met.

What Does a Week in the Life of the [Job Title] Look Like?

    • Generate material requisitions from project drawings for issuance to the purchasing group for procurement.
    • Coordinate with the purchasing group to ensure that all materials needed to support fabrication are delivered on time and according to the requirements defined on the original requisition issued to purchasing; work with the purchasing group to expedite any back-order materials which could present delays in fabrication.
    • Support and ensure compliance with all OSHA and HSE policies throughout the companies.
    • Work with the Project Administrator to maintain updated fabrication documents issued to production and quality control groups.
    • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built drawings.
    • Coordinate with the document group to close out all documents needed to compile the final data books.
    • Coordinate change order costing efforts between purchasing and estimating to provide the Project Manager with final costs to present to customers on changes in scope.
    • Assist with research and preparation of shop change requests to resolve design issues.
    • Prepare informal drawings or sketches to support fabrication work as required, as well as periodic job-related photographs for records.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information with the project network folder, master drawing and project job books.
    • Acts as key contact with subcontractors to ensure that the execution of their scope of the project meetings all requirements defined by the company through internal standards of client specifications.
    • Attend project and client/subcontractor/engineer meetings as requested or required.
    • Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by the Project Manager.
    • Present oneself as a candidate for promotion by learning and understanding fabrication methods and developing good project management skills.
    • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.

Required Education and Experience:

    • Must have High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Must have to ability to read, write and comprehend written and verbal English. Must have the ability to comprehend documents such as fabrication drawings, bills of material, quality and safety documents.
    • Must demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers, clients and co-workers in a team environment.
    • Must have proficiency in MS office software.
    • Exposure to a fabrication environment preferred.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

The Project Coordinator will work Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed.
