Job Title: Medical Intake Specialist
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Intake Specialist to join our team. The Medical Intake Specialist will play a crucial role in efficiently and accurately gathering medical information from injured workers and healthcare providers to facilitate the claims process.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct intake interviews with injured workers to gather detailed information about their medical history, injuries, and treatment.
-Coordinate with healthcare providers to obtain medical records, diagnostic test results, and other relevant documentation related to workers' compensation claims.
-Review and organize medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
-Enter and maintain accurate records of medical information in our claims management system.
-Communicate effectively with injured workers, healthcare providers, and internal team members to ensure timely processing of claims.
-Assist in the preparation of claim files for review by claims adjusters and legal teams.
-Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
-Provide excellent customer service to injured workers by addressing their questions and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
-Stay updated on workers' compensation regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency in claim processing.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma, medical assisting, or a relevant discipline preferred.
-Previous experience in a medical office setting, workers' compensation claims management, or healthcare administration is highly desirable.
-Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation practices.
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
-Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation.
-Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
-Proficiency in using computer software and databases for data entry and record management.
-Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
-Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards injured workers, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
