Volt is immediately hiring for a Design Engineer in Mabank, TX.
As a Design Engineer you will:
- Provide design support from concept to layout and detail drawings on specific programs.
- Perform engineering analyses utilizing established analytical methods and a variety of finite element codes. The Project Engineering group supports the Package, Refurb and Upgrades (PR&U) business, creating accurate and timely definition of the turbo machinery package and systems such as Frames, Enclosures, Package, Ancillary, and their respective components and assemblies.
- Be accountable for content, accuracy and timeliness, providing design of mechanical package systems including; Lube, Fuel, Start, Seal, and Turbine systems. Scope includes modeling, drafting and releasing.
- Daily cross-organizational integration is required, coordinating with peers in CSPE, Standards, Project Management, Systems and Package Development Engineering.
This is a full time, temp to hire role.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Successful candidate will be thorough, organized, detail oriented, and able to convey concepts and thoughts in a concise manner.
- Demonstrated success with independently gathering and analyzing relevant data and defining project issues in engineering terms with minimal technical direction. The ability to work in a fast paced, teaming environment; capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously, meeting various deadlines and project schedule commitments of varying scope while maintaining flexibility is required.
- Must assume ownership of design throughout process including build, test, field installation/commissioning.
- Required skills include Creo Parametric 3D modeling knowledge and usage, or usage of a similar software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, etc..
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed to ensure that other project team members are kept informed regarding problems
- and issues for projects in work.
