Senior Project Manager

What success looks like in this role:

Location: Sleepy Hollow, NY

Summary/Purpose:

Responsible for managing the Outsourcing PMO for a pharmaceutical customer including oversight of the successful implementation of medium to large scale projects or sub-projects that consistently deliver high client value. Works with the client, Client Executive, Service Delivery Manager, Project Sponsor, practice leader and project team to plan, develop, organize, monitor and deliver project services and solutions on time and on budget. Brings together cross-functional team members and fosters a collaborative approach to delivery. Takes an active role in issue, risk and financial management. Balances project objectives to achieve overall program goals. Performs project planning, tracking, and oversight to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget and with client satisfaction.

This position requires on-site presence at the customer location in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management
* Leads moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and cross functional team
* Determines project scope, objectives and deliverables through project on-boarding sessions with all stakeholders.
* Validates project cost and provides risk analysis.
* Uses strong project management skills and delivery methodologies to lead the delivery of projects or sub-projects within planned timelines, budget, margins and quality specifications.
* Manages the development and integration of the entire project(s). Consistently delivers high value, "client ready" work, including communications and presentations, with minimal supervision.
* Takes an active role in risk mitigation and issue management. Proactively identifies, creates mitigation plans and reports project risk and deliverable issues as soon as possible.
* Establishes and manages the project plan (development, delivery schedule, resource requirements, 3rd parties, cost budget methodology, tools, standards and quality).
* Uses appropriate methodologies (such as risk mitigation/management, change/control management and contract management) to manage major projects or a group of projects.
* Leads or supports the implementation of change management, business process redesign or information planning.
* Balances project objectives to achieve overall program goals.

Stakeholder Management
* Has a strong understanding of the client contract. Create change orders when additional work required is outside the original contracted scope of the project and/or services proposal activity in Unisys portfolio areas.
* Establishes and ensures appropriate governance functions for the projects in accordance with enterprise policies and practices, and on behalf of the executive sponsor or senior responsible owner.
* Communicates deliverables, conducts client meetings, obtains required client sign off and specifications, client acceptance and billing.

People Management
* Manages medium to large cross-organizational project work teams and the development and integration of project deliverables.
* Sets objectives and priorities, assigns and reviews tasks, performance and staffing requirements.
* Staffs projects and maintains the resource plan.
* Provides mentoring, development and performance feedback to team members.

Finance Management:
* Accountable for the overall project financial performances
* Accountable for the contracted project revenues and margin (Fixed Price and Time and Material) targets
* Accountable for project financials reviews with project controller, Client Executive, SDM and Unisys senior management
* Provides Estimation To Complete forecast to the Unisys stakeholders and the financial impact of identified risks on project performance

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Qualifications

* Requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of related Project Management experience
* Project management experience with at least 2 of those years managing large, more complex projects, generally up to $5 million of services value per year.
* Capable of managing multiple service streams.
* Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to train and develop team, and ability to work in a time-sensitive environment.
* Holds active PMI or IPMA professional certification. (Desired)
* Training in the practical application of business process redesign, change management and information planning tools and methodologies.
* Using business process redesign, change management and information planning tools and methodologies to identify new business opportunities.
* Successful track record of engagement capture and client relationship management.

Key Metrics
The following are broad guidelines that generally apply on a consistent basis across Unisys. Other factors may be considered such as strategic importance of key accounts/ practices, business trends, and external market conditions resulting in exceptions to these guidelines.
* Budget Managed: $2- $5M
* Project Size: 25-50 staff
