Job Details

Position: Cook / Culinarian

Location: Pascoag, RI

Schedule: PART TIME Available

15-24 Hours per week 10 AM - 6:30 PM

1 weekend day required

Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00 - $18.00 Commensurate with Experience

Cook / Job Description:

The Cook reports to the Chef Manager and is responsible for the preparation, production and service of meal services, serving customers and providing exemplary service. The Cook is representing not only the client but NEXDINE as well. The Cook needs to exhibit great customer service in all aspects of this job.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and Produce food items following recipes and prepare specialty dishes as required.
• Adhere to NEXDINE's Culinary Commitments with the use of 100 percent fresh ingredients
• Describe how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Ensure customers are satisfied with all aspects of meal services. Communicate with direct supervisor any customer service issues.
• Assist with set-up/breakdown of all meal services as needed.
• Support with the organization of coolers and storage areas as well as taking of inventory and orders needs.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned, including but not limited to, sweeping and mopping floors, tidying up production line and kitchen areas and taking out trash.
• May wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment.
• May assist in supporting service staff as directed.
• Provide excellent customer service to include being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a kitchen environment whereby employees may be exposed to and/or required to operate equipment, including but not limited to, an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may be required to sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push, pull & lift items weighing 40 pounds or less. Employee may be required to stand for long periods of time. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in food service
• Previous customer service experience
