Position Title: Maintenance Engineer Temporary - Morning Shift

Resort and Location: The Grandview at Las Vegas

Department: Engineering

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Chief Engineer and Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer position is primarily responsible for supporting the physical needs of the property. Maintenance Engineers are responsible for repairing and addressing the physical needs in each of the units (repairs and replacements) and throughout the property.

NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL WORK HAND IN HAND WITH THE HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT DEEP CLEANING PROJECT. TASK WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO; MAINTENANCE WORK, MOVING AND PUTTING BACK APPLIANCES AND COMPLETING WORK ORDERS IN THE TOWERS.

Position Requirements (Skills/Abilities):

Flexible Scheduling: Must be able to work Evenings, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

Experience:

One to three years of maintenance experience in a multi-unit property (condominium or apartment complex).

Education: High School diploma or GED required. OSHA 10 Certified preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with guests and employees of the organization.

Core responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Answer room calls.
  • Do readings on temperature and pressure.
  • Safe assists.
  • Respond to AC calls regarding thermostats.
  • Check and replace phones when necessary.
  • Replace lights inside rooms and replace light fixtures, ballasts, kitchens and outlets.
  • Replace lights on the riser rooms and trash rooms.
  • Replace lights in stairwells, replace emergency batteries inside stairwells.
  • Replace lights in corridors, repair laundry doors, check and replace TV’s when necessary.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs to faucet cartridges and shower cartridges, toilets, snake drains.
  • Replace outlets in units when necessary.
  • Clean, maintain and stock the main 5th floor storage areas.
  • Replace sofa bed inserts, replace broken coffee tables, fix and replace lamps when necessary.
  • Do light painting and touch up and drywall repairs.
  • Replace hair dryers, repair and change appliances, repair and replace broken furniture, tiles, replace box springs, mattresses, bed frames and head boards.
  • Repair doors, change door knobs, change locksets on doors, replace parts on doors.
  • Replace AC filters in units and vacuum AC panels.
  • Repair faulty pool gates, replace Jacuzzi parts in units.
  • Able to respond to any type of emergency.
  • Clean maintenance shop.
  • Fill out Engineers log sheets daily.
  • Maintains a friendly, professional, cheerful and courteous demeanor always
  • Always Ensures Outstanding customer care
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to use his/her hands and fingers to feel, and reach for objects of various sizes, shapes and. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at time.
