Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

Location: Remote/Work From Home
Job Type: Fulltime, Short Term Contract - ASAP start date
Pay: $38/Hour


As a Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) at Soliant, you will play a vital role in facilitating inclusive and accessible education for students with visual impairments in Mississippi. You will work remotely, utilizing virtual platforms to deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in the learning environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students, families, and other members of the educational team.
  • Assess students' needs and progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies and materials accordingly.
  • Utilize technology and adaptive resources to enhance learning experiences for students with visual impairments.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educational professionals to promote integration and inclusion of students with visual impairments.
  • Provide training and support to educational staff and families on techniques and strategies for supporting students with visual impairments.
  • Stay informed about best practices, trends, and advancements in the field of visual impairment education.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services provided.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Mississippi (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
  • Strong understanding of assistive technology and adaptive resources for students with visual impairments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
  • Passion for promoting inclusivity and accessibility in education.
  • Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
