ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. The Structural Welder is responsible for the design, lay out, and fabrication of metal framework for Heavy/Structural construction, with a primary focus on welding pile on bridge construction sites.
Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately.
  • Follow direction of Foreman and Equipment Operators as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite
  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding [WELDER, TACK (welding)].
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment [WELDER, COMBINATION (welding)].
  • May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
  • May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools, and be designated Welder, Structural Repair (welding).
  • May specialize in using one welding process and be designated Welder-Fitter, Arc (welding); Welder-Fitter, Gas (welding).
  • May specialize in fitting and welding components of metal tools, dies, and fixtures and be designated Welder, Tool And Die (welding).
  • Report incidents immediately in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the company.
  • Performs other laboring and various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks essential to the project.

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years’ related construction/pile welding experience required
  • AWS D 1.5 certification
  • Valid Driver’s License is required

WORK ENVIRONMENT· This position is both outdoors and indoors.· This work environment may involve minimal to moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.· Exposure to moving mechanical parts.· Noise levels in the outdoor work environment is usually loud.· Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest.
