JOB SUMMARY

BHT's are responsible for leading clients in their day-to-day activities at The River Source. You will also guide clients in groups and in life skill development while maintaining a professional demeanor. As a BHT you will have the opportunity to work with the Treatment Team to ensure the success of each client.

BHT Responsibilities

• Model appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with clients and co-workers
• Ensure clients are always adhering to house rules.
• Monitor client participation throughout the day.
• Enforce client activity schedules and assist clients in their daily agenda.
• Assist clients in developing life skills and enhancing social skills.
• Process newly admitted clients into the facility by explaining program rules/policies and procedures.
• Function as a role model and resource to clients
• Conduct room and client belonging searches to comply with security procedures that limit contraband and prevent dangerous behavior.
• Facilitates educational groups on chemical dependency, self-esteem, anger management, life skills, social skills, etc.

BHT Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and a combination of behavioral health education and/or work experience totaling a minimum of one year. (Associate degree preferred)
• 1+ years' experience in a substance abuse treatment facility
• Ability to pass E-Verify and Background check.
• Must be able to pass a Tuberculosis screening (TB test) before employment.
• Must possess current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Valid Driver's License

• 12-hour shift
• 8-hour shift
• 10-hour shift
• Dayshift
• Mid-shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Arizona City, AZ 85123: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Work Location: One location (Remote work is not available for this position)

Physical/Emotional Health Requirements

Must be without physical or emotional limitations that would impair the ability to fulfill the functions of the position, including freedom from substance abuse. The work environment is characteristic of residential behavioral health treatment services. Must be able to stand, sit, and travel to all areas of the facility and meetings as necessary; read, write, and comprehend the English language.
