We are looking for a Production Helper to join our team! This position will perform a variety of routine work in connection with the production of boilers, pressure vessels and oil burners. Responsibilities may consist of material handling, cutting, chipping, grinding, etc. The ideal candidate will have experience with hand tools and simple machinery.

This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PM; Saturdays as needed (maximum of two required 6 AM – 12 PM).

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists in the loading of boilers, plate, etc. on the railroad cards and trucks.
• Helps and assists Boiler Fitters or Trimmers.
• Helps unload steel plates, bars, angle irons, channels and other miscellaneous materials and supplies.
• Secures materials and boilers from yard to shop and from shop to yard, under the direction of a skilled or semi-skilled classification.
• May be required to do porter or janitor work as required.
• Helps or assists in any other operation where their presence may be required.
• Performs related work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rates labor grade.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with hand tools and simple machinery.
• Experience reading blueprints a plus!

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
