Summary:

Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Paralegal to support our tax attorneys. This full-time position is 100% in the Rochester, NY office. This role involves conducting legal research, preparing and filing documents, and communicating with clients and tax authorities as directed by the supervising tax attorney.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assisting tax attorneys in preparing for hearings and meetings.

· Conducting research on tax laws, regulations, rulings, and case precedents.

· Preparing legal documents, such as tax election forms or award agreements.

· Communicating with clients to gather information and keep them informed about the status of their cases.

· Assisting with transaction and organizational structure diagrams.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree and related paralegal certificate preferred.

· Candidates possessing business paralegal and/or an accounting degree or relevant accounting experience will receive strong consideration.

· Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

· Proficiency in legal research software and MS Office.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

The compensation range for this position is $55,000- $65,000 annually, representing our good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential compensation at the time of posting.
