Available Shifts:
AM- 8:00am - 1:00pm
PM- 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Position Summary:
The camp will run from June 10th till August 2nd. Responsible for assisting the Youth Coordinator/Director of Youth Programs with the Summer Program. This position carries the major responsibility for the overall management & supervision of a site with children between the ages of five(5) and eleven (11).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans, supervises and implements the program in accordance to the policies, procedures and philosophy of the YWCA.
- Supervises all site staff and provides a written performance evaluation at the end of the school year; Reviews and maintains complete staff files on site.
- Provides accurate and timely transmissions of staff time sheets, sign in/out sheets and leave requests; Maintains correct documentation of attendance, absenteeism, excessive tardiness of staff.
- Maintains and assists in planning of and enforces daily schedule of activities for Counselors.
- Assures proper drop-off and pick-up procedures.
- Insures the safety of the participants at all times. Maintains first aid kits adequately supplied.
- Establishes emergency exits and exercises monthly fire drills as well as emergency procedures to be followed in the event of a crisis.
- Documents and reports to Youth Coordinator all accidents/incidents with staff, children or parents.
- Safeguards all games, balls and other supplies, including arts & crafts materials.
- Maintains proper participant enrollment records of all participant enrolled.
- Maintains accurate participant program attendance.
Qualifications: Associate Degree preferred; CDA/FCCPC credential needed; High School
diploma/GED required; 45 hours of DCF child care training required; First aid/CPR Training;
previous experience working with children, some supervisory experience preferred.
