FARM QC INTERN

The primary responsibilities of the Farm QC Intern shall be to support and conduct field audits of farming practices to ensure implementation of COR’s farm plan under the Farm QC Department. And assist in the taking of farm and grower fruit samples, plus aid in the data collection of study and trial projects for the season.

Essential Functions

• Collecting conventional leaf samples from California Olive Ranch Farms as well as Grower Partners.
• Collecting sap leaf samples from California Olive Ranch Farms as well as Grower Partners.
• Collecting soil samples from California Olive Ranch Farms as well as Grower Partners.
• Collecting fruit samples from California Olive Ranch Farms as well as Grower Partners.
• Assisting in the collections of environmental compliance samples.

Knowledge & Skills

• Must have basic Excel skills to do data entry and some analysis.
• Creating and editing PowerPoint trainings
• Communicate effectively to fellow interns, Supervisors, and Managers
• Be able to work alone and with others.
• Must be detail oriented and organized for any and all projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science, AG Business, Food Science, AG Education, or experience/background in agricultural related work.
• Must have a valid driver's license for extensive driving from farm to farm in a company provided vehicle

Physical Demands

Must be able to bend and move extensively, be able to stand for extended periods of time, be able to lift at least 50lbs.
