Maintenance Technician

The Pickleball Club, headquartered in Sarasota, FL is a developer of premier membership based one of a kind indoor pickleball clubs in the state of Florida. The Company is well underway with its plans to develop 15 facilities across the state of Florida with its strategy to take advantage of the significant unmet demand for quality indoor sports facilities across Florida. Our first state-of-the-art facility is now open and operating in Lakewood Ranch and we are preparing to open our second club in St Lucie West and are in search of a Part Time Maintenance Technician to add to our club team.

The Maintenance Technician, reporting to the club’s General Manager, is responsible for the daily operations of the club facility including the safety, cleanliness, repair, maintenance, emergency response, and physical appearance of the inside and outside of the club. The Maintenance Manager will perform or oversee the performance of building repairs, equipment and furniture repair and replacement, and oversee all maintenance & repair vendors performing work at the club. The Maintenance Technician will support event, set up, and breakdown.

Part time (20 hours per week)

Primary Responsibilities:

• A full understanding and ability to operate all club systems including but not limited to; lighting, HVAC, plumbing, AV, fire, security & computer systems, and elevator.
• Coordinates the service and repair of all systems
• Monitors all work to ensure a high standard of compliance by outside contractors. Regularly report to compliance to the General Manager.
• Keeps accurate and current maintenance and repair records of all equipment, building components, systems, and parking & grounds areas in MaintainX..
• Maintains the pickleball courts in a safe, clean, and repaired condition to ensure an outstanding player experience.
• Maintains all common area in a safe, clean ,and well-maintained condition.
• Ensures the club maintains an outstanding appearance and curb appeal. Includes signage, flags, dumpster area, sidewalks and parking lot.
• Serve as a day porter during times of high traffic through the facility.
• Ensures that all building maintenance, repair, and cleaning activities are identified, scheduled, and completed promptly.
• Ensures that all refuse is properly removed from the the premises.
• Responds to emergencies at any time.
• Maintains the appropriate level of tools and supplies for the club facility.
• Assists with preparation for special functions, parties, tournaments, etc. by installing decorations and constructing display pieces, moving furniture, assisting with set up.
• Helps develop and maintain a resource management plan which outlines short-term and long-term requirements for repair and maintenance, capital replacement and capital requirements.
• Ensures a highly efficient safety program with an emphasis on awareness, discipline, and compliance; implements an overall safety program that conforms to OSHA standards.
• May be required to drive and maintain a company vehicle

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

• 5-10 years of experience in a similar position of equal or responsibility
• Technical knowledge and capabilities in the facility management field
• Track record of experience managing and coordinating vendor services
• Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
• Autonomy - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
• Enthusiastic - Ability to bring energy to the performance of a task.

• Employees are required to be CPR/AED Certified (having completed in person training) or must complete in person training and obtain certification at their own cost within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Reporting:

• The Maintenance Manager will report to the General Manager

Physical Requirements:

• A current Florida driver’s license
• The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, squat and bend over regularly. carry out repetitive motions regularly, lift and carry awkward items, stand for length of shift.
• Must have a valid form of ID.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment
