PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in crushing/screening plants with a focus on maintaining production.
  2. Able to inspect, replace parts and perform adjustments to keep equipment in good working order with some supervision.
  3. Alert Management of potential problems with plants or equipment which could impact production and plant longevity. Advise when replacement parts are needed.
  4. Work with 1st class mechanics and Foreman to update Management on job statuses, potential delays with repairs and any safety issues.
  5. Utilize company resources including parts, supplies, tools and equipment safely and efficiently with minimal supervision. Able to select basic tools needed for jobs.
  6. Complete assigned tasks as quickly as possible in order to achieve maximum plant production.
  7. Prepare written reports, records, and requisition requests as required and turn in to supervisor daily.
  8. Assist with fabrication and welding using diagrams and drawings with minimal supervision and guidance.
  9. Attend training for specific topics to improve knowledge of components and repair of all Crushing/Screening Equipment.
  10. Comply with all MSHA & GP Safety and Hazard Recognition Programs.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned. May be required to perform repairs on rolling stock equipment and at other facilities as needed/qualified.

Mental and Physical Demands:

Able to observe potential repairs/adjustments needed, troubleshoot and assess damages, and correctly repair in a timely manner; Need to be able to lift 50 pounds.



PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 3-5 years of experience in crushing and screening repair, or relevant heavy industrial
  2. Must have valid Driver's License with favorable Driver History Record, and ability to complete physical exam to meet Dept. of Transportation driver requirements; CDL preferred.
  3. Must have good organizational skills. Must be a team player and work in unison with peers and Management.
  4. Attends training classes to maintain certifications (I.E.- welding, crane, MSHA, aerial platforms, & forklifts) and acquire new skills in plant and equipment technology.
  5. MSHA, Crane operator, Rigging, and Welding (AWS D1.1 SMAW 3G & 4G Combo Welding) certifications preferred.
  6. Supports Management's operational decisions on deadlines and budgetary limitations.

We primarily employ carpenters, laborers, and operating engineers. We are signatory to collective bargaining agreements with the following unions listed below and are subject to the hiring rules of each collective bargaining agreement. We anticipate hiring for projects on Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai as work becomes available and will be contacting the respective union to fill these positions:

*This is a union position. Selected candidate will be asked to join the Operating Engineer's union prior to starting work.
