Come join our lending team as the SBA Operations Manager and take your career to a level unattainable in a traditional bank environment! The SBA Operations Manager is responsible for managing the loan processing and closing, portfolio management and loan compliance efforts of the Bank's SBA Loan department. This role will take ownership of the department's operations support needs and manages the performance of the SBA Processing Administrator, Portfolio Manager and Compliance staff as well as future administrative associates.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing- Oversee and manage the processing team during packaging and closing of SBA loans in compliance with SBA and bank guidelines.
  • Portfolio Management- Manage SBA Portfolio Management during annual review process, including site visits and financial reviews.
  • Compliance- Manage SBA Compliance during post-closing and compliance reviews in accordance with the applicable SBA SOP and Bank policies. Oversee the review of SBA applications and documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance with SBA and Bank policies.
  • Leadership- Manage the performance of the SBA Processing Administrator, Portfolio Manager and Compliance staff as well as future administrative associates. This includes hiring, performance annual reviews, training and supporting staff.
  • SBA Regulatory Knowledge- Display and maintain extensive knowledge of SBA loan program SOP for SBA loan programs, portfolio servicing, and compliance to insure loans are processed thoroughly and documented for closing in compliance with the current SBA SOP. Monitor and assess SBA changes and updates to ensure staff are on the cutting edge of SBA processing, servicing and compliance procedures and requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to all Bank clients via phone, email, or in person, answering questions about the client's relationship with the Bank.
  • Continually assess and evaluate current policies and procedures to identify opportunities for improved customer experience and efficiencies.
  • Originate and manage third party vendors in support of SBA lenders.
  • Refer clients to appropriate bank support personnel as possible.
  • Make recommendations for the continuous improvement of the SBA Lending process.
  • Prepare periodic reports for management as needed.
  • Participate in and successfully complete ongoing compliance training as required.
  • Perform all other general support and special projects requests as assigned by SBA Division Executive.

Specific Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Wide-ranging administrative support experience, in-depth knowledge of SBA lending programs; or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Significant management/team leadership experience.

  • Sustained standing and sitting.
