Position Summary & Duties Responsible

POSITION SUMMARY

Business Systems Analyst will assist Senior and Lead Business Systems Analysts in the performance of support activities of computer hardware and software systems to meet business needs. Support activities can include any of the following functions: Analysis, configuration, testing, implementation, upgrades, troubleshooting, maintenance, and safeguarding of applications such as Human Resources Capital Management (HCM), Management Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP - SAP), Records System (RMS), Jail Management System (JMS), or other various applications, to ensure departmental business needs are meet.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide customer support to departmental end users for application-related issues.
  2. Perform various application quality assurance activities such as testing, troubleshooting, and debugging application functionality to resolve issues.
  3. Conduct daily/weekly/monthly proactive tasks to ensure continued consistent functionality and availability of applications and the tasks/jobs that interface with the applications.
  4. Create reports and data extracts utilizing reporting tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports, and/or reporting resources and functionality available within specific applications.
  5. Assist Senior and Lead Business Systems Analysts in planning implementation of new functionality.
  6. Assist Senior and Lead Business Systems analysts with mapping business processes, gathering and analyzing user/business requirements, and preparing technical documentation such as system design specifications, system flow diagrams, procedural plans, and testing plans.
  7. Assist Senior and Lead Business Systems Analysts with coordinating design, development, integration, and implementation processes with system programmers, network analysts, database administrators, and server administrators to ensure inter-operability across multiple platforms and technologies.
  8. Attend meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
  9. Provide after hours technology support as assigned.
  10. Incumbent(s) in this classification may handle sensitive and/or confidential records, plans, documents or decisions that require maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. ?

  1. High School Diploma or GED, and two (2) years of work experience in Information Technology in a specific functional area listed above. Any equivalent combination related to education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:

  1. Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.
  2. Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.
  3. Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.
  4. Employee must have a valid New Mexico driver's license by employment date and maintain a valid NM driver's license while employed in this position.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Mobility - frequent standing or sitting for extended periods; frequent walking; occasional driving may be required depending upon assignment; occasional pushing/pulling; frequent bending, kneeling, squatting and crawling.
  2. Lifting - frequent lifting up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  3. Vision - constant use of good overall vision for reading/close up work; frequent use of color perception and eye/hand coordination; occasional use of depth perception and peripheral vision.
  4. Dexterity - frequent repetitive motion from writing and using a computer keyboard; frequent grasping, holding and reaching.
  5. Hearing/Talking - frequent hearing/talking to others on the telephone and in person; occasional hearing of faint sounds.
  6. Emotional/Psychological - frequent decision making and concentration; occasional public contact; occasional working alone.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Work is typically performed in an indoor office environment, but occasionally requires travel to other locations.
  2. Work environments may include noise, dust and/or unpleasant odors, and may occasionally require work in confined spaces.
  3. Occasional evening, holiday and/or weekend work may be required.
