Job Description Summary
Senior level role that investigates and maintains complex or claims casualty claims. Determine liability, secure information, review coverages, arrange appraisals, and settle claims. You will handle attorney represented clients only. There are multiple openings. You will report to a Manager, Adjusting Services.

$67,000.00 - $111,000.00

Job Description

Primary Accountabilities

  • You will investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, or public personnel.
  • You will identify complex issues and seek assistance when needed. Handle claims on a good faith basis.
  • You will handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements.
  • You will conduct on-site inspections when needed, evaluate damages and handle claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
  • You will respond to customer inquiries, make decisions, and close files.
  • You will interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply to all parties for assigned losses.
  • You will make independent decisions and self-supervise most files and recognize when assistance is needed.
  • You will provide all parties with claim process and status; answer questions or redirect to other areas.
  • You will be a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-focused solutions or service.
  • Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims.
  • Demonstrated experience handling simple to moderately complex.
  • Understanding of policies and endorsements.
  • Knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.

Licenses

  • Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
  • Obtain any required state specific property casualty claims licensing.

Physical Requirements

  • Work that involves sitting/standing.

  • You will handle attorney represented clients only. You will bring your experience handling attorney represented clients in this bodily injury (BI) position.

Additional Job Information

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home. You must reside within a 50-mile radius (or 35-mile radius for Boston / Chicago) of one of the following locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Chicago, IL 60601; Denver, CO 80112; Eden Prairie, MN 55343; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034; Nashville, TN 37214

On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
