Associate Microbiologist Analyst - Probiotics Lab

• routine analysis
• This team is doing more chemistry (verifying specifications) USP team, is looking for contaminants (USP lab)
• No pathogen testing*** Doing the compete opposite - ensuring label accuracy.
• They are trying to make sure the product meets the label claim.
• Still a lot of routine testing.
• Enumerations of probiotic sample (high count methods)- accuracy is a must.
• A lot of dilution series testing - multiple dilutions. Multi step testing. Dilution series.
• Spread plate methods and pour plate methods.
• Will get into flow cytometry later on in this role.
• Some paperwork and data entry involved. 70% lab work and 30% paperwork/data entry

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in the Life Sciences Preferred (Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry or etc)
• 1+ years experience in laboratory setting with a bachelors degree.
• 2-3 Years with a High school diploma
• This person needs to be very self-motivated, flexible, independent, driven.
• Ability to multi task
• High attention to detail- precise weights need to be taken
• Nice to have - Flow Cytometry
• Ability to use a variety of styles of pipettes and micropipettes, specifically multi-channel electronic pipettes
• Ask about Food allergies!!
