Job Description SummaryPrimarily responsible for the finance and controllership activities involved with all aspects of investment accounting and reporting. Additional responsibilities include supporting other controllership activities inclusive of GAAP and statutory financial reporting. Provide information and reporting to GE Aerospace and NALH Senior Management, NALH legal entity Boards, regulators, and rating agencies.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for all aspects of investment accounting and reporting.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place and operating effectively and execute internal controls.
  • Identify internal control weaknesses and process improvements.
  • Prepare GAAP and statutory financials.
  • Prepare financial disclosures and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate investment portfolio information to GE Aerospace, NALH senior management, NALH legal entity Board of Directors, regulators, and rating agencies.
  • Fulfill external and internal audit requests.
  • Analysis of key investment trends and drivers.
  • Perform variable analysis and document findings.
  • Communicate with third party investment managers, pricing vendors, custodians, and accounting providers.
  • Prepare losses and impairment reports.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and roll-forwards.
  • Record manual journal entries

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in public accounting.
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Proficient use of financial systems and MS office – e.g., Excel, PowerPoint & Word.

Desired Characteristics

  • Financial services and insurance industry experience
  • Investment and insurance reporting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification and background check.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
